Nicole was born and raised traveling the world and but recently moved to beautiful Durango. Animals have always been a part of her life, so it wasn’t a huge leap for her to switch gears from a career in customer service and sales (in mostly animal-related businesses) to a career helping the most vulnerable animals in the community. As she and her husband settled in Santa Fe, NM, Nicole found working at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society to be just the place to start her career change. Having worked at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter in various capacities, she found that being more directly involved in providing medical care was what interested her most and she moved into the shelter’s clinic and began training and working as a Veterinary Technician. To further her education, she is currently enrolled in the San Juan College Veterinary Technology Program. After being offered the chance to move to Durango, Nicole and her family quickly jumped at the opportunity to live in southwestern Colorado. She loves being able to hit a trail or the river within five minutes of leaving her home. Nicole feels incredibly lucky to have found Riverview Animal Hospital, an amazing team of people who care as much for their clients and patients as they do their own four-legged families. She currently shares her home with a husband, two dogs, a corn snake, and one bearded dragon.
