Dr. Jen Anderle grew up in rural New Hampshire and received her BA in General Art from Northeastern University. Shortly thereafter, she set her sights on a childhood goal and completed her post-baccalaureate premedical certificate at Tufts University in 2017 and graduated from the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. Dr. Jen spent a year practicing general and emergency medicine in Truckee, California, until all signs pointed her to Durango. She is thrilled to join the team at Riverview Animal Hospital and call Durango home.
Dr. Jen has special interests in small animal dermatology, nutrition, and end of life, or palliative, care. In all cases, she aims to be a strong advocate for every pet family and ensures that her patients receive the best care possible.
When she’s not working, Dr. Jen enjoys being outdoors with her boyfriend and their Caribbean mutt, Bowie. She enjoys hiking, road biking, cooking, and being on the ocean with her family when she’s back in New England. She is looking forward to making art in the beautiful San Juan mountains.
