Drew Doverspike

Dr. Drew grew up in Punxsutawney, PA. In 1999, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Colorado State University with a major in Biological Sciences and minor in Neuroanatomy. He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 after having completed a senior year training of clinical rotations at Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital.

While becoming certified as a Veterinary Pain Practitioner (CVPP) via International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management in 2013, Dr. Drew opened a general practice hospital that focused on dental oral surgery for peri-operative, preemptive, and acute pain management.

Upon seeing an ever-increasing need for chronic pain management and mobility medicine in geriatric dogs (that are now living a lot longer than they did decades ago), he sold his general practice clinic in order to begin treating these patients that were having difficulty mobilizing while at the same time were otherwise healthy (i.e., did not display systematic sickness). These patients require a lot more time than a typical general practice appointment could provide!

He became a Certified Veterinary Medical Acupuncturist (CVMA) through CuraCore in Fort Collins, CO in 2018. At present time, he is completing his Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist program at the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in Denver. In his free time, he enjoys backcountry skiing (sometimes with his dog), mountain biking, and exercise training for these high altitude activities.
