Riverview Animal Hospital is fully stocked with prescription diets from Hill's, Royal Canin and Purina. We also offer a wide selection of shampoos, treats and other pet products!

Exam rooms

At Riverview Animal Hospital we consider a comprehensive physical examination to be the cornerstone of your pet's health care. Our well-trained staff will take the time to review all of your pet's health needs. We are here to help you! Please feel free to ask questions. We have three exam rooms on our main level. One is equipped with a hydraulic lift table, so your dog won't have to jump up or down!

 



Pharmacy

For your convenience, we stock a selection of the medications most commonly used for your pets. Some medications that are difficult to find we have compounded specifically for our use. Medications that are not available from our hospital can be obtained by prescription from area pharmacies. Our staff is trained to dispense these medications under the supervision of the doctor. Our hospital uses excellent quality, high titer vaccines that are shipped to us overnight and refrigerated immediately. Proper handling of vaccines is essential to their effectiveness. The vaccination protocols that we follow are based on the latest and best information available.

Laboratory

The equipment in our laboratory allows us to do a lot of our labwork "in house". This is especially important when working with critically ill or injured animals, allowing the doctor immediate access to critical information. The Vetscan is a fully automated blood chemistry analyzer that can also detect thyroid hormone and electrolyte levels. The Abaxis HMT is for Complete Blood Counts. The doctors can also choose individual blood chemistry tests on the Reflotron. The microscope is used on a daily basis for a number of tasks, such as blood smears, cytology, to find evidence of external parasites, and urine analyses. If test results are not needed immediately, or if tests that we do not offer are needed, we send our labwork to Idexx Veterinary Laboratories in Denver via overnight courier. They have a staff of veterinarians trained in pathology, microbiology and clinical pathology.

Dental Station

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use a modern and safe ultrasonic scaler to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish the teeth to create a smooth, lustrous surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. Surgical suite

This room is used only for sterile surgical procedures. We do a variety of soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries in this room. We are very well equipped with anesthetic machines, EKGs, Doppler blood pressure and pulse oximetry units, and a carbon dioxide laser. Patient safety and comfort are paramount!! Every surgical patient is kept warm with a variety of hot water blankets and special pads. Each patient is carefully monitored and receives IV fluids before and during the procedure. Intensive Care

In any emergency, seconds count. Our experienced staff is backed up by state-of-the-art emergency equipment, including a positive pressure ventilation unit and a climate controlled intensive care unit.  The top cages can be oxygenated and all of the cages are heated.

Specialty Center/Training

On the lower level of Riverview Animal Hospital is a specialty center with it's own reception area. The specialty exam room is available for ultrasounds and consults.
