Hospital Manager
Emily was born and raised in
Chicago (go Bears!). She did her undergraduate work at
Fort
Lewis
College and earned her Masters in Animal Science at
Colorado
State
University. She was very happy to settle here in
Durango
with her husband, two dogs, and two cats. Emily originally joined the
Riverview team as a receptionist in the Spring of 2006 and became the Hospital Manager in the Spring of 2009.
Technicians
Bridget CVT
Bridget graduated as a veterinary technician from Bel-Rea Institute in 1990. She worked as a surgical technician for many years on the front range of
Colorado before joining
Riverview Animal Hospital in 2000 as head surgical technician. Bridget enjoys hiking with her two dogs, biking, skiing, gardening and spending time with her husband.
Rita
Rita has been a technician at
Riverview
Animal
Hospital since
1999, and has been a veterinary technician for over 15 years. She
enjoys skiing and spending time on the river. Her menagerie includes 4
dogs, 2 cats, 3 snakes, a cockroach and many fish.

Cynthia
Cynthia came to Riverview in the summer of 2005, moving here from Dallas. She worked for several years in an animal hospital in Dallas. She enjoys hiking with her two dogs, skiing, and spending time with her family.
Kassy
Kassy relocated to the Durango area in 2006 and joined the staff at Riverview. Her previous experience in veterinary medicine includes 17 years of working as a veterinary technician and 5 years of work in boarding facilities. When not at work, she loves to participate in outdoor activities, especially riding her horses.
Jessica joined the staff of Riverview in April 2008 after graduating from the Bel-Rea Institute. She has lived in Durango all her life, and enjoys outdoor activities like fishing, camping, and horseback riding. She has one dog, a border collie named Bailey, but one day hopes to have more!
Reception

Barbara's
life aspiration came true when she finally started working with animals
in the veterinary field in January, 2000 after 20 years as a Paralegal.
She joined Riverview in 2005 and says it is her "dream job".
She is happiest when she's interacting with her pets - - and yours!
She has two cats and two dogs. Both of her dogs are
registered therapy dogs! She enjoys doing agility with her dog A.J.
Karyn
Karyn began working for Riverview Animal Hospital as the kennel assistant in 2002. After graduating from Fort Lewis College in 2004, she became a full-time member of our front desk team. Karyn returned to Riverview in the Fall of 2009 after moving to Montrose for two years. She has two dogs, two cats and a toddler who will always entertain and keep her busy at home! Karyn also plays the violin with the Valley Symphony Orchestra in Montrose and Delta. With the help of Dr. Santi, Karyn is helping the hospital to transition from paper to electronic medical records.
Leslie
Leslie joined the Riverview Animal Hospital team in the Summer of 2009 after being in Real Estate. She always wanted to have a job working with animals and aspires to become a Certified Veterinary Technician one day. Leslie loves all outdoor activities that include her three dogs, Manilla, Urge, and Melvin.
Tara
Tara has been with Riverview Animal Hospital since the Spring of 2008. She has lived in Durango since 1995 and enjoys outdoor activities like mountain biking and river sports. Tara recently adopted a husky mix puppy, named Tootsi from the Reservation over by Shiprock, NM.
Tracy
Tracy has been in the veterinary field for eight years and started at Riverview Animal Hospital in June 2009. She enjoys hiking, skiing and sailing with her husband as well as doing agility with her three dogs.
Andy
Andy joined the staff at Riverview Animal Hospital in April, 2006 as a kennel assistant. In 2007, he began helping with reception duties and helping the technicians during surgeries. After a brief 1-year leave, Andy returned in February, 2010. Andy keeps busy at home with four dogs, Wicket, Till, Wednesday and Billy. Andy recently got married and has a two year old son.
