Gail
started training dogs when she was 11 years old after her parents gave her a Sheltie mix. Her first job was at a pet store where she learned dog grooming and realized her love of working with dogs. For awhile, Gail was in Conformation Showing with Italian Greyhounds. After completing a few championships, she decided her true love was in training.
Gail has attended training seminars for the past 30 years and also attended a training camp with the prestigious trainer Anne Marie Silverton. She currently attends two to three training seminars per year focusing on obedience, agility and new training techniques.
Gail began working as the trainer at Riverview Animal Hospital in 1998. She is currently a member of the Durango Kennel Club, Durango Agility Dogs and The Papillon Club of America. She is a Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and a Certified Therapy Dogs International Evaluator.
She keeps busy with her two Papillons, Oprah and Nellie. Both have achieved Master Agility titles and are registered Therapy Dogs. They spend many weekends at agility trials and visiting patients at Mercy Regional Medical Center. They also visit community nursing homes in Durango several times per week.
