Riverview Team


Bridget, CVT

Bridget has worked as a licensed Veterinary nurse for 28 years and have worked at Riverview for 18 years. Her career has been filled with all kinds of great experiences, from working at the Boulder Humane Society Spay/Neuter Clinic, to two different Referral Hospitals, as a Surgical nurse in Denver and Fort Collins, then, two different General practices before starting at Riverview in May 2000. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, cycling, riding her horse, snuggling with her cats and spending time with her husband and friends.



Barbara's life aspiration came true when she finally started working with animals in the veterinary field in January, 2000 after 20 years in a career as a Paralegal. She joined Riverview in 2005 as a Client Service Representative.
She was promoted to Front Desk Manager in 2014 and finally promoted to Hospital Manager in August, 2017.  She is happiest when she's interacting and spending time with her husband and pets-she has 3 cats and 2 dogs. She enjoys gardening, music and traveling.



Kassy has been a Vet Tech and Surgical Nurse at Riverview Animal Hospital for 12 years. She loves all things outdoors especially mountain biking, horse riding and gardening. Animals are her passion and she feels blessed to have worked doing what she loves for the past 25 years.


Jessica, CVT

Jessica joined the staff of Riverview in April 2008 after graduating from the Bel-Rea Institute. She has lived in Durango all her life, and enjoys outdoor activities like fishing, camping, and horseback riding. She has one dog, a border collie named Bailey, and two cats.



Tara has been with Riverview Animal Hospital since the Spring of 2008. She is a senior Client Service Representative at the front desk and loves working with all the pets.  She has lived in Durango since 1995 and enjoys outdoor activities like mountain biking and river sports. She has a rescue dog named Tootsi and 2 cats.


Marianne, CVT, CCRP, MBA

Marianne originally started at Riverview in 2011, and then re-joined the team in 2014 after a brief hiatus to send her only daughter off to college. She has a vast amount of experience and education and loves nothing more than to learn new things and share them with clients. Marianne is a Certified Veterinary Technician with 18 years of experience working directly in the veterinary field. In 2009, she also became certified in Canine Rehabilitation through the University Of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine which allows us to offer physical therapy services at our hospital. In addition, she is Nationally Certified in Canine Massage and Acupressure and has a special interest in home health and hospice care for animals. Often, you can also find Marianne teaching senior dog and fitness classes in our downstairs training facility. At Riverview, Marianne also uses her MBA and degree in communications to provide educational materials for both clients and staff. Marianne is an avid hiker, biker, scuba diver and also loves horseback riding. She shares a small ranch in Durango with her 4 horses and 3 dogs.



Born and raised in southern Arizona, Lisa moved to Durango in 2004. She fell in love with the mountains and decided to make her home here. Helping care for pets is her dream and she hopes to continue her education by becoming a certified vet tech. Lisa loves spending time with her son, Amadeus, her boyfriend, Joe, and her two cats, Hobo and Henry. Her other favorite activities are watercoloring, reading, and hiking.



Stephanie moved to Durango in 2006 from Colorado Springs and graduated from Fort Lewis College in 2011. She started working for Riverview Animal Hospital in October 2014. She loves animals and has quite the furry family of her own that consists of her dog, Pepper Pickle, a cat and ferret. She enjoys all the outdoor activities that Durango has to offer such as, snowboarding, hiking, camping, rafting, etc. If she’s not at work, then she is on an adventure in the outdoors.



Beth was raised here in Durango making her a Colorado native. Starting out her work experience as a kennel tech Beth quickly realized she wanted to continue working with animals. She is currently attending San Juan College to become a certified vet tech. In her free time Beth is spending time with her dogs Diesel and Ralphie and her husband outside of work.


Jessica Schafer

Jessica moved to Durango with her husband from Corvallis, Oregon in the summer of 2017. She is very excited to be on the Riverview team. Jessica graduated from Oregon State with an animal science degree and a focus on veterinary courses. She hopes to continue her education and become a certified technician. She loves all animals. Currently she has an orange tabby named Reggie and a bunny. One day she hopes to add a dog into her family. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, camping and laying on the beach.



Sarah moved to Durango and began working at Riverview in the summer of 2017. Before moving to Durango, Sarah worked as a vet tech in California while studying for her Associates in Veterinary Technology. Outside of work, she enjoys snowboarding, hiking and hanging out with her 10 year old lab mix, “Bou”.
